McDonald’s Digital Collectible Campaign
UX/UI Design

McDonald’s launched a limited digital collectible campaign for the McCrispy Chicken Burger. I designed the mobile H5 claim experience, covering the main steps from landing page, login, claim code entry, minting status, collectible details, to poster generation. Since the project included strong campaign visuals, animation, and video moments, the key was to keep the flow simple while still making the experience feel special.

Challenge
The main challenge was not just making the campaign look exciting. The harder part was keeping the claim flow simple while the experience included a lot of animation, video, and strong brand visuals. The user journey itself was quite short: enter the campaign, log in, enter a claim code, confirm the claim, wait for the collectible to generate, and view the final result. So I had to make sure the visuals and motion did not get in the way of the next step. Team collaboration was also a big part of the process. Since many screens relied on video and motion, I worked closely with developers to align on animation timing, loading states, page transitions, and what users should see if something took longer than expected.
Objective
The goal was to create a clear and smooth mobile claim experience that helped users understand the campaign quickly and complete the digital collectible claim with fewer steps. Each step was designed around one main action, so users would know what to do next without overthinking. At the same time, the experience still needed to feel visually engaging and campaign-driven, encouraging users to stay in the flow and finish the claim. The overall goal was to make the experience feel fun and memorable, while still supporting a simple and effective conversion journey.
Results
On launch day, over 83,000 users successfully claimed the digital collectible, with a claim completion rate of over 90%. This means that most users who entered the claim flow were able to complete the full journey successfully.
